  We recently headed out to give The Harbour Street Fish Market a try. We were going with friends who had been there multiple times before. We arrived in good time to sit and enjoy dinner and drinks with long time friends before the 'bar' crowd arrived. This is where things with south. We were well into our pre dinner cocktails and ordering our dinner when the Manager came by shortly after 6 looking for the cover charge. We enquired why we would be charged this especially in light that our dinner bill with drinks would be approx. $75 pp before tip. The response took us aback to say the least...."the food and drink prices are the same with or without entertainment. You can leave if you would like!" As we had already ordered we gave the leaving option little time. That would not be respectful no matter how the Manager/Owner she treated us. Our service was excellent given how busy the venue was albeit no quality check was performed by our server after the meals arrived. The entertainment was terrific and had everybody dancing. Our meals left a lot to be desired. The highlight was my Carbonara which was excellent. One of the best I have ever had. My buddy's Steak and Mushroom pie was "ok" (his words) and the ladies meals - Halibut and Fries - was dry and not very tasty at all. The coleslaw which normally is excellent per our friends was uneatable. Overall the evening was great but that was driven by the band and the crowd. The meal and customer interaction left a very bad taste in my mouth! I would not recommend this place to anyone.

  Best fish & chips I've had in Canada. Always order the bacon wrapped scallops....my favourite. Service friendly & prompt but unobtrusive.
